Marilyn Justin’s powerful vocal performance soon reached the ears of Philip Michael Thomas, CEO of Spaceship Records and PMT PRODUCTIONS in North Miami, Florida. Thomas was immediately taken with Marilyn’s vocal TONE, calling it “a rare Diamond” and describing her as “an Earth Angel.”

"In 1975, just after I starred as “STIX in "SPARKLE" with Irene Cara, I signed my first managers contract with Bob Marcucci; “THE IDOL MAKER”. Bob Marcucci told me he was preparing me to be his third IDOL, after Frankie Avalon and Fabian. Tony Camillo, who produced Gladys Knight's 1973 Grammy Award winning song, "MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO GEORGIA”, written by Jim Weatherly, and included on the Pips' 1973 LP "IMAGINATION", was Bob Marcucci's Business partner and the producer on my DEMOS. This period was also marked by when I first met Dionne Warwick in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive.

Bob Marcucci and I took the 1976 DEMOS to Clive Davis at Arista Records for their review. They told us that they thought the DEMOS were good but at that time they were NOT signing any male recording artist.
